How To Organise A Party On A Budget

By | August 15, 2017

Everyone enjoys a good party, and sometimes, it can be just the thing you need to lift your mood.

However, just because your budget might be a little tight, it doesn’t mean you cannot arrange a good time with your friends and family.

There are many ways you can get into that party spirit while still keeping your spending to a minimum. Here are some top tips to keeping the costs of a party down.

The Theme:

The theme or reason for your party is essential to the rest of the organisation. It allows you to focus on one type of event or theme and not get side-tracked.

If you are organising a child’s birthday party, for example, you might not want to have alcohol there, and you can have party games for the guests. There are many ideas for cheap party games for kids online.

If you are having a theme, try not to go for the obvious, try to think a little differently and come up with new ideas.

The Location of the Party:

One of the most expensive parts of organising a party is the venue. You want somewhere that is going to be large enough to accommodate everyone, but not a place that is expensive.

One way is to limit the number of people you invite; this means you can choose a smaller and hopefully cheaper venue. Shop around and see where you can find the best deal, it could be your local church hall or community centre.

You can hold it in your house if you have room. However, it will mean a big clear-up afterwards.

Creating the Invitations:

Invitations are where you can let your creativity come alive. You don’t need to have expensive invitations printed at a shop; you can easily design and print them yourself.

Sites such as Adobe Spark have many templates for you to choose. Whether you are looking for baby shower invitation templates or a standard birthday, there are many ways you can do this yourself.

Also, try to deliver them by hand instead of posting them, this will save you money on postage and make it more personal.

Organising the Food:

Arranging food can be tricky, especially because you need to find out about allergies and other issues in advance.
There are many good party food websites that you can check out; they often have recipes and ideas for those with allergies.

Some local supermarkets offer a catering party pack that includes sandwiches and desserts. However, you need to make sure that this is going to be cost effective when laid against catering yourself.

Try to have a range of food that can cater for everyone; it doesn’t have to be expensive, just a few alternatives to the traditional sandwiches and nuggets.

With a bit of planning and organisation, you can create the perfect party that everyone will love without having to spend a fortune or order things that you won’t need.
