Challenges – Our #WOTW

By | June 29, 2017

I can’t quite believe it’s Friday tomorrow, this week has rocketed by and we’re one week closer to the end of term too, eeek!

It’s been a “will it happen, won’t it happen?” time for D’s Sports Day as it was re-arranged from last week as it was too hot and then the forecast for Tuesday wasn’t great but…it went ahead and the rain stayed away until the very last race.

Our D did incredibly well, stepping in at the last minute in the last race of the day and her relay team came 1st! A nice shiny gold medal (to go with her silver) for one very happy girl and two mega proud parents!

As regular readers of my blog will know, sudden change can cause D anxiety so I think we were just as proud that she coped with the “do you want to be in this race D? Come on then!” as much as the medal, if not more.

T is facing challenges too as he will be moving up a few divisions in joining another football team, he’s more than ready for this as he tends to either mirror-up or mirror-down to fit in with a group.

There is the potential for some new challenges for D from September too at school, I got goose-bumps during the chat at D’s school, it’s a case of “watch this space” as I can’t mention anything until there’s been some further discussions.

Next week will see “Proms Week” at D’s school, which is a week-long musical event.  It’s always incredibly moving to listen to and see children and young adults up on stage, enjoying themselves in the right educational environment for them, knowing the practice and care from the staff that has gone into every performance.  It will be wonderful and it’s something that always brings big smiles and tears of pride from the watching parents and carers.

My second #scarfeet op is seven weeks away (eeek!) and I need to get the things done I won’t be able to afterwards, that WILL be a challenge for my family, making sure I rest afterwards (poor them) as I am prone to a de-clutter/room re-arrangement/garden overhaul (boy at the moment with #scarfeet though, as I have “affectionately” named the pesky things!!

C’est la vie! How’s your week been?
