Our Christmas Eve
By Jeannette | December 24, 2016
T’was the night before Christmas And sorry to say, autism has meant for T, tomorrow is just another day.
Whereas his sister is excited to the brim, for T, it’s just a Sunday, a routine day for him.
Lunch will be “usual” and breakfast and tea too, all timed to the dot. The stereotypical laughing family Christmas table in adverts, not us. Not.
The stockings are filled, (to him) all full of “rubbish things”, the presents all wrapped, under our “tipsey” angel with wings.
It’s a bittersweet feeling, this Christmas time. We’re grateful for so much, but wish we could see our children shine.
And then there’s the virus, that pesky old bug. Excuse my sneezing and coughing, can’t sleep or get snug.
All that’s left to say, is from our house to you:
Merry Christmas, have a fab day, we mean that, we do!
