Date – This week’s #WOTW and #R2BC

By | March 10, 2016

Ooh we are baaad parents, naughty us!  The children were safely at school, Hubbie had a day off and we had a cinema gift card at our disposal.

Yes, we snuck off to the cinema, to a lunchtime showing of Dad’s Army.  With snacks too (which cost more than the actual tickets, just as well we had the gift card!). Hubbie loves all the re-runs on the TV and, I hadn’t heard great things about the film but we wanted to watch something we’d (hopefully) both enjoy.

And we did.  The first film in ages that we’d watched all the way through and without protests from our children that it might be too noisy/they didn’t like the film/someone was staring at them/we were sitting too close to strangers. The seats were lush too, long comfy seats with adjustable head and foot rests, which also made a silly parp sound as the controls moved the head/foot rests.

The film was better than I thought it would be too.  I guess you had to be aware of the characters and know their mannerisms, the actors did very well and there were a few giggle-some moments.

It made a change and yes, if another good film comes out and Hubbie’s rained off with the weather, we’ll do it again.  Just maybe sneak our own little snacks in next time, they were ridiculously expensive.

So, my word for this week is:

Because, no we didn’t snog each other’s faces off (not at those ticket prices!!) but we did spend some us-time together and that was really quite nice.

Sounds absolutely perfect, glad you got some time to yourselves. The snack prices are ridiculous! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x
