This week’s #WOTW and #R2BC

By | February 25, 2016

Nearly Friday (YAY!) and time to sum up our week in a few words.

This week hasn’t been a particularly easy one, both T and D not heading back to school as well as they could have and the fallout has been felt, both before and after school.

It’s felt a bit never-ending and today didn’t help my shredded nerves when I headed into town and managed to leave my phone at home.  Town is 25 minutes away by bus so it wasn’t a case of heading back once I’d realised.

There I was, picking up my order from a shop, joking that today would no doubt be the day that either T or D’s schools would call and guess what….T’s school did, from the medical room (ooh double guilt, but fortunately all fine). I felt a tad lost without my phone and came home to a few voicemails, texts and emails – just as well it was on mute otherwise the snoozing moggies would have been annoyed!

Ticking-over is therefore my word for the week because it’s felt like one thing after another but I need to be that constant for the children, someone that they can rely on to be there, even if they feel too agitated to tell me what’s bothering them.

Let’s think about the positivities this week:

1.  Bad Hair!

(No, not mine!) D’s school has a bad hair day tomorrow.  The wackier the better.  One of my “to do’s” today was to find something for her to wear:

These fitted the bill in Claire’s Accessories (I bought two) and, as it was “buy 3, get 3 more free”, I picked out some quite funkily glittery hair bits for her.  She loved them and if they’re worn all at once, that just adds to the appeal, doesn’t it?

2.  By Hook..

This beastie of a throw is how my phone got left at home today, I decided to take a quick picture.  This is it on our king-sized bed, for scale.  It’s not finished yet but now too big and heavy to take to crochet class next week – not bad for a beginner a month in, is it?

3.  A belated Christmas sort out

Yep, it’s two months today since Christmas and I finally got around to getting the chain sorted on my lovely necklace from Hubbie.

This is the original chain with the necklace, a delicate and short gold chain:

And this is how it is now, with a longer, slightly more sturdier silver chain:

The silver chain really brings out the colours and it goes very nicely with my other Alex Monroe items, it’s now nice and long too.

I can’t think of anything else, I think we’re all looking forward to the weekend!

That crochet throw is amazing, well done you!
Sorry it’s not been a good week, been pretty rubbish here too as both LOs have been unwell. I’m hoping I can get them both in school tomorrow so I can get a moment to think for myself, and they get back in the swing of it.

Let’s hope the end of the week is a lot better than the beginning.

well done on the crochet! We have a mad hair day where I am working next week so I guess a visit to Claire’s may be in order 🙂

That chain is pretty and it does really set it off. Well done on the crochet, it’s brilliant! I hate forgetting my phone and how typical that you were needed then, too. Hope next week is easier all round x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

Your present is beautiful – it’s a lovely present. I can’t believe your crochet blanket is on a king size bed, it’s huge! It really isn’t bad for a first timer x
I hope all settles down for you next week and D & T settle back in their school routies xx
