The Sponge – Weds 27th Jan 2016

I’ve mentioned before about T’s reluctance to bring anything he creates in his cooking lessons home.

There are so many (sensory and other) factors to consider: he doesn’t like what he’s making and therefore has no interest in bringing it home; he’s used to going direct to the coach stop and doesn’t want to miss the coach home and he’s at that “I won’t do it, if you say I should” stage of teendom.

Today, though we had a result.

Now it’s probably because yes, he likes cake, (who doesn’t?) or maybe because I had a bit of a moan this morning that we are literally chucking money for ingredients into the school bins because he leaves the end result there, but anyway…

His cooking came home, on the day that it was made and in one piece too.

General consensus was that it was very nice.  All the above considered, this is definitely a #SSAmazingAchievement for this household.

A short blog tonight as my husband has been generous with his “man flu” germs, bless him.

I’m so glad he brought this home for you all to try. It does look nice. I hope he does, at some point, start to enjoy food tech. Such a great life skill for all of us but not something you think about as a teenager ;0) x

I hope he does too, cooking is such a valuable life skill but, unfortunately, at the moment, he doesn’t enjoy it want to enjoy the end result. Hopefully we’ll get there X
