Yay! This week’s #WOTW and #R2BC

By | October 29, 2015

As you may have gathered from the title, it’s a “yay” kind of mindset in our household today.

“Yay” describes how I’m feeling after an event which has caused (in varying degrees) annoyance, amazement, frustration, achievement, negotiation and today, a distinctly damp feeling (weather wise) happened.

The official opening of the local football pavilion, in the picture are Steve Clarke (manager of Reading FC) and Sir John Madjeski (co-chairman).

There’s been a lot of liaison with the University around this and – despite the windy, drizzling weather – there was a great turnout and it went really well.

D came with me and she was in her little tent with (not one, two or even five but) seven books, her iPad and Bunny.  There was frequent dashing between her and the event, a much better option as she just couldn’t have been around the amount of people that came, not to mention the fact that she gets extremely annoyed if I talk to anyone.

But enough of football talk, here’s some more #R2BC:

The half term has meant no school runs and, T especially has had a chance to wind down from school life.  His school take GCSE’s a year early so there’s been plenty of talk around preparing them for that in school.  It’s hard to believe he’ll reach the ripe old age of 13 next week.

What else? I’m not particularly liking the darker earlier evenings following the clocks change, at least it’s taking place at the start of half term, rather than the end.

D’s been practising her flute playing this week and it’s lovely to see her enjoying her practise (eventually) and trying to teach me too.  It’s something we’d like her to carry on, as long as she wants to.  She seems to find it relaxing too.

I’m loving having T and D at home but I’m really looking forward to getting to the gym next week.  The fact I want to go is a bit of a “yay” too!

How’s your week been?

My little one has started oboe lessons and I am loving listening to her too, she is not all that tuneful yet but it is the determination and satisfaction on her face that is so rewarding. Mich x #R2BC

So true, it gives them so much enjoyment when they realise it’s going ok 🙂

Music is so good for people whether it be listening or playing. I used to drive people crazy with the violin. screech, screech, screech #WotW

Oh gosh, I’m glad D’s is a softer sounding instrument – apart from when I have a go!
