Tick tock – Mon 26th Oct 2015
By Jeannette | October 26, 2015
So, the clocks changed from BST (British Summer Time) yesterday and thankfully it’s happened with a week of half term ahead.
The downside is that D’s tummy has its own clock and her afore-mentioned tummy knows when it’s meal time. To the minute.
So, rumblings and mumblings started at 11am, as she has lunch at 12noon on the dot. She’s not au fait with the quarter past/quarter to/ten past scenarios but has memorised the clock faces for lunchtime (12noon) and tea time (4 o’clock).
It’s made for clock watching in both BST and GMT as their bodies adjust to the changes – handy at night when it seems to them that they’re getting tired earlier, not so in the morning when they’re awake before they would normally be.
And poor D has a cold, a sniffly snuffly irritating one. One that made for a broken sleep (even with melatonin) last night. One that’s irritated her a tad today.
But …. she’s learnt a new skill. How to blow her nose, it’s been as if we’ve had a trumpet being played intermittently in the house, what with varying degrees of pressure being tried.
It’s been making her laugh, even if sometimes she hadn’t felt like it.

Oh yes the wonderful time change. It hasn’t affected tummies in my house only waking up time. AAARRRRRHHHH! Hubby was the one shouting at me to get up on Sunday because it was 11.30 (it was 9.30) to say I wasn’t impressed would be an understatement! #SSAAchievements

I would make him stay elsewhere for clock change night for at least the next two years until he proved he understood how it works! I won’t stand for grown men ruining clocks going back for me! 😉

I’ll definitely consider that!

Remember all those years in your life when you think clock change is as simple as one loses you sleep and is bad, while the other gains you sleep and is good?? Glad nose blowing has been causing amusement, however! #SSAmazingAchievements

Oh gosh, yes! One clock change always seems to affect them more than the other :-/

Clock changes are always difficult to deal with every.single.year!!
But we were out and about early on Sunday as the clocks changed which meant we had a full on, busy day, so we got back our hour a day later, on Sunday evening/Monday morning. I hope you get your hour back somehow. I remember the days they learnt to blow their own nose – glad it’s causing amusement!
xx

Such a small thing blowing your nose isn’t it. Well it is when you know how to do it! You forget that this is a skill that also needs to be learnt, we aren’t there yet. Well done D for finding this new found skill x

Thanks, it’s very funny to hear her trumpeting, glad she’s mastered it 🙂
