Strangely – Mon 5th Oct 2015

By | October 5, 2015

Strangely enough, today has been a good one for our D.   After yesterday I really didn’t think it would be.

Maybe D overthinks with worst case scenarios and then, once the morning arrives, she’s okay? Relieved almost.

I know this isn’t a standard, as with everything I can’t predict how well she’ll cope with an event or how long any anxieties last.

We’ve had times when (a bit like today), she’s spent days and days worrying about something and then, once it’s upon us, she’s fine – alternatively we’ve had times when those anxieties snowball and get bigger and bigger, until she can’t bear to be anywhere near what’s worrying her so much.

That’s when the meltdown and bolts will occur.   When she just has to get away, without thought for her safety or others.

Predictably unpredictable as I call it!

She enjoyed Beauty Club and was full of smiles when I got back after an evening meeting too (having already gone through her routine before I left), she’d settled where I would have and snuggled down, waiting for me.

She did well, unpredictably.

(The above is a wooden sign I bought today.  I love the sentiments especially the “smile till your face hurts)
