Mostly like this.. – Fri 11th Sept 2015

This last week has mostly left me feeling like this:
Frazzled. Distinctly frazzled.
There’s been the fact that D still hasn’t got a timetable for her school days, which is causing no end of issues as she does like to know what she’ll be doing; T’s had two evening friendly football matches which has naturally had an impact on his tiredness and emotions and Hubbie’s dad went into hospital. Mix all of the above in with emails flying here, there and everywhere regarding Hubbie’s work, football matters and the Comms and Events work I’ll be (voluntarily) doing, the small matter of Lord Trumington and Sir Piddle-pants (more on them later) and general day-to-day parenting of our lovely children and it’s all been a bit…
A bit “waaaah!”, a bit “stop the world just for a moment, I want to take a breath and regroup”. But there have been some positives, let’s go for it:
1. Back home
Thankfully Hubbie’s dad is back at home after an uncomfortable (due to the tests) time in hospital. He’s a widower, elderly and really quite frail so it was a worrying time but he’s home, back in his surroundings and he got back in time to watch the International football match. Yep, that football love runs through three generations!
2. Fighting Knights
These handsome chaps have taken up much of my time this week. I’ve been covered in paper-mâché, tried to make muscles out of toy stuffing and foil and then make it far more time-consuming by deciding to knit chain mail, which also held the foil in place!
Lord Trumpington, the victor:
And Sir Piddle-Pants, poor chap!
They’ve left the building, gone to spar somewhere else and I quite enjoyed building up the layers and adding little flourishes in.
3. Signed up
T is now part of a football team again, yay! He’s stayed within the club and hopefully if there are any suitable new recruits, then Hubbie can manage a team again. In the meantime, the pressure is off (apart from the upcoming Comms work for me).
4. Smiles
These have been hard to come by for D this week. She’s found the lack of timetable difficult and yesterday was just tear-filled for her.
However, she is MEGA excited about going to a trampolining birthday party tomorrow. It’s apparently one humongous trampoline area, a bit like soft play but bouncy and then pizza afterwards (thankfully not before!), it will hopefully give us plenty of conversation prompts afterwards too.
I also had a day with Bunny (D’s comforter) today and D decided that “Bunny” should knit some carrots. So, “Bunny” has (ahem), along with a little basket and D loved them so much they’ve headed off to b e d with her and Bunny. I think the bunster enjoyed her day with me!
5. Hay fever, who knows?
I couldn’t mention our week without the fact that, on top of everything else, Hubbie has a cold. I thought it might be late summer hayfever but a dose or so of Lemsip is doing the trick.
Anyway, I think a chocolate button or two (dozen, ha!) is in order after quite a frazzled week, how’s yours been?

Oh no! No wonder you’re feeling frazzled, sounds like a challenging week with so much going on. You are so good at finding some positives, though, and I’m glad your father in law’s home safe now x Thanks for sharing with #WotW

I love the idea of being attacked by several days at once 🙂 Sorry you had a frazzled week. There’s back to school challenges here too, it never ends with autism, does it?

It definitely doesn’t, I like a challenge … but not too many at once!

Very glad to hear that T once again has somewhere to play his football.
I do think it’s very bad that D’s school hasn’t produced a timetable for her: bad enough in any school but for a special school that is extraordinarily poor 🙁

Yep, agreed x

No timetable must be hard, can’t you talk to someone about doing one. Or do one yourself? Glad T is again playing. Hope you feel less frazzled quickly xx

Thanks lovely, unfortunately it was a case of waiting as she can’t remember what she gets up to and when x
