Born To Run (?) & other #R2BC
By Jeannette | February 7, 2015
I’m late with my R2BC this week, not because I haven’t got any, I’ve been getting things done (which is a Reason To Be Cheerful in itself).
I think back to two months ago when every day would find me crying, over sometimes quite trivial things and am thankful that it’s because I feel more positive, I’m achieving more. Things that I’d have taken a “mañana mañana” approach to previously.
I’m also gearing myself up to start running (yes, Becky, finally). I used to see people running past me and think “do they enjoy that? Isn’t it boring? Why aren’t they out of breath?” and then came the realisation that you can’t just go out and go for it, it has to be built up and lung capacity increased.
I found this in a magazine this week:
And if I hadn’t been waiting in for the gasman (who arrived late), I’d have started it yesterday, in the meantime I’m doing my 10k steps per day.
Snow came and went for us this week, which delighted D as she’s been absolutely desperate to make a snowball or two. She did just that on a walk to school and, just as well, as it was all melted away by home time.
T finally got to play a football game today, after a few weeks of frozen pitches, they drew against the top team in their league, so although there have been plenty of “we should have won” protests, it was a good result.
He’s also happier with a less back-busting school bag, a sturdy backpack as opposed to messenger. Which has (kind of) resulted in a calmer T at home.
Our little computer corner was crying out for a noticeboard, after a lot of searching, I found this one:
I think it fits in really well with the grey/purple/glass effect. It’s now full of organised bits and pieces. “Job Done” as DIY Dan would say.
It feels good to get a bit more organised and just feel more positive. Life has chucked a few curveballs at Hubbie and I over the years but we’re still here, still snuggly, still very much together.
And as for whether I’m “Born To Run” or “fit to flop”, time will tell!

I know what you mean, we have dedicated cycle paths in with the pavements and there are always grumbles – from both sides!
