Back To Routine (ish) – Sun 4th Jan 2015

Well, back to school for T tomorrow, it looks like he’ll be heading off for that school bus in both the fog and before it gets light, bless him.
T is such a stickler for his routine pre school, even during the holidays. It’s as if his mind banished all thoughts of school completely and because he does things a certain way the day before/in the morning, any change wouldn’t be considered.
So, much as I’d requested it previously, homework was still finalised today (as per when he always does it) and any other attempts to deviate were not well received.
He’s enjoyed his time off in the main, he’s had plenty of hiccups from giggling and there have been (unusually for T), a few cuddles and his head resting on my arm.
There have been frustrations, times when he’s verbally lashed out at D because she’s unable intellectually to keep up with whatever he’s suggesting and times when I’ve thought “blimey, I hope you don’t talk to people like that in school” when I’ve been on the receiving end.
I don’t think he does though. School is school and he puts a metaphorical mask on and gets through the day, winding down a bit on the school bus, saving any emotions for once we’ve met him from the bus.
D doesn’t go back until Wednesday, so I’m sure there’ll be a few rib-squishing cuddles over the next couple of days.
