Chasing Rainbows – Tues 18th Nov 2014

By | November 18, 2014

Seeing a rainbow is always a source of joy for D (and me!) so, to come out of school today and see this:

Was pretty amazing. A double rainbow! There’s no filters or effects in the above picture, it’s as it was. Just beautiful.

D’s first reaction was that she wanted to run and find the ends of the rainbow, then she’d get her wish, “to fly like a butterfly”. And she did want to run to find it, I had to physically hold her back. (I love her enthusiasm, her ability to always see the natural beauty in the smallest things (for example, leaves in the autumn) even if that enthusiasm is sometimes masked by anxiety, lots of it.)

But all good things must come to an end, the rainbows faded and the rain started and we had a damp walk home.

It was a good natured one though, T being quite cuddly, which isn’t like him at all.

And it was all going really well until T and D clashed over a world in (yes) Minecraft. Tears and big sobs from D, who will stand up to her brother in most things but lacks the confidence to just leave an area (in Minecraft) if it’s all getting a bit much for her in terms of health levels and such like. This makes me sound like I know what I’m talking about, I don’t. I am terrible at Minecraft!

Anyway, one cuddly (very cuddly) D later and hopefully it’s all forgotten about, until next time.

I hope everyone’s day has gone well Jx
