Word Of The Week #R2BC
By Jeannette | October 2, 2014
It’s time to think up a word to sum up the past week in the Bluecrisps household and think positively too (the R2BC bit).
Our week has been dominated by D recovering from a nasty trike fall into the road last Friday afternoon and her subsequent injuries but, my Word for this week is:
and here’s why:
1. D returned to school today (Thursday) having endured an X-ray and a nurse’s appointment to check that all was healing as it should be. It was fascinating to see her face in X-ray format, the technician spent quite a while pointing out her eye socket, nose, chin, spine etc.
She’s gone from this last Saturday:
to this happy, healing girl today:
2. And that writing on the notice she’s holding? It’s part of her campaign to be a House Captain at school. The sentences were composed and written by D, even spelling out “because” by herself, thanks to a little spelling rhyme she learnt in class.
The voting is next week and she’d like to be picked for one main reason, that of helping to hand out the medals during Sports Day. An example of her lovely, helpful nature.
3. I mentioned last week that I was waiting for my new phone to arrive, it is amazing! Oodles more memory and it’s so speedy. Looks good too.
4. And this, D absolutely hated her beautiful pink trike after she fell off it, vowing that she wouldn’t be getting back on.
It took until Tuesday to get her to have a go, understandably she was anxious, but she overcame those considerable anxieties and did it!
Amazing that she overcame her fears and recognised that being on that pink trike is pretty good fun.
We’ve also talked about where she came off, it’s a little steep corner just outside the gates, now christened the “corner of doom” and she’s recognised that it would be best to get off and walk that bit, going in and coming out. Which is pretty amazing that we had that chat, she realised where and how it happened and that we’re taking steps (literally) to remedy it.
All in all it’s been a week I’m glad to see the back of but there’s been definite lessons learned.

Thanks, it is a fantastic trike, I’m mega pleased that she got back on it. She doesn’t want to ride it back to school yet but hopefully that will happen soon x

It sounds like you’ve handled a potentially traumatic accident really well and it hasn’t stopped you and D from still having fun with the trike. That is amazing x
