Squeeeeeaaaaal! Fri 1st Aug 2014

Well, the squeals today weren’t coming from T and D today but, it seemed, the entire tween population of the town we visited today.
There was a record signing in the shopping centre and our pitshop for lunch occurred in the coffee shop next to it. Whoever was there had come 2nd in BGT, I don’t watch those so wasn’t any the wiser, but the squeals and screams that kept manifesting indicated that it was someone to get excited about (if you’re in that demographic).
I explained to T and D what was happening, she was surprisingly relaxed about it all and just carried on reading her book, but T just couldn’t understand why it was going on and was getting frustrated by the noise.
Eventually there was a lull and a more relaxed T:
We’d gone into town after a check-up for D at the children’s clinic at the hospital, a chat about how the injections are going and monitoring her. D is very used to going there, the surroundings and the people, but as we normally have an appointment during the school day, T wasn’t. Again, the noise and the bustle made him very uncomfortable, he couldn’t wait to get out of there.
It wasn’t all bad though, as a reward for the morning, T and D got to choose a book each, take them to a toy shop and they’re a bit overwhelmed but, a bookshop is ideal.
And they haven’t really stopped reading them since. Just like me, if I get a good book in my hands, I just want to read and read, been like that for as long as I can remember.
We had our “best and worst bits” round up at tea time and, for the first time in ages, there were no initial “worst” bits for T and D. Which is fantastic. Naturally my penguin slip-up has featured, still causing much merriment from T, I’m not sure if a pigeon will ever be called a pigeon again!
I hope everyone’s day has gone well Jx
