Please Join In With “A Mile For Autism” #AMileForAutism

By | July 16, 2014

Are you doing anything on Sunday 20th July 2014?

How about getting some fresh air and helping to raise some money for autism awareness and an autism charity which is of so much help to so many?

Now, don’t panic, I’m not asking you to sponsor me, simply to join in walking/cycling/running/swimming/howeher you’d like covering a mile for autism. The letter below from Charlotte, a lovely twitter friend, will explain more:

Hello,

I’m writing to tell you about #AMileForAutism – an event which aims to bring together communities across the country who are affected by autism with people who support raising awareness and understanding. On 20th July I invite you to join in and help to raise money for the national charity Ambitious about Autism.

The concept is a simple one and anyone can participate:

Do a mile in whatever way you choose – walking, cycling, running etc.

Post your #AMileForAutism photo to social media on 20th July (not forgetting the all important hashtag!)

Text AMFA14 £1, £2, £5 or £10 to 70070 to make a donation to Ambitious about Autism, then encourage friends to join in and do the same.

I’m a mum of two boys who are both on the spectrum; I’m not a fundraiser or a marketing expert but I had an idea that I thought would unite people and now I need your help to make it happen. I hope with your support we can not only raise money for the fantastic charity Ambitious about Autism (who are supporting this idea) but also show the autism community that people care. It’s easy to lose hope when your life is touched by autism – fighting for services, diagnosis and support is all too common but with help from charities like Ambitious about Autism we can have hope for the future. Please help me to help them spread this hope further.

If you think you’d like to participate, or if you’d like more information, I would love to hear from you.

Best Wishes

Charlotte Hall @clkh_ @amileforautism
