R2BC despite this darn cough! #R2BC

By | June 5, 2014

I finally gave in yesterday to this ridiculous cough that has been hanging around for weeks and bought some Day Nurse, which made me feel a bit “ooooh this is nice” and seemed to help. But, because I’d had two doses during the day and then Night Nurse at nighttime, I convinced myself I wouldn’t be waking up so didn’t dare go to sleep. Yes, that is how I roll sometimes…

But there are some R2BC this week, let’s find them:

1. I’ve got my outfits sorted for both T’s school appeal place meeting on Monday and the BiBs part of BritMums, both are making me extremely nervous for differing reasons but it’s good to feel sorted.

2. The school appeal meeting…I’m glad that it’s finally nearly here and that, hopefully, by this time next week we’ll know the decision.

3. When I’m overtired and a bit run-down (like today), I tend to do DIY bits (don’t know why)! Today I put together a hutch for two of the guinea pigs, so that they can spend the summer outdoors. It came with no instructions (grrr!) and no fixings (double grrr!!) but I managed to put it all together, apart from the roof. It’s pagoda-style and I’m being emailed instructions. I had a couple of “oh yes, I’ve put that bit upside down” but felt really pleased that I’d done it and they’re settled in (temporary roof in place)

They happily trimmed the grass for me (bonus!) and Itsey (cat) definitely got caught out being nosey in the first picture.

4. D is full of excitement about upcoming events at school; trips, sports day and the school proms. She’s been singing the songs they’ll be singing tonight, it’s lovely to see her so happy.

5. T seems calmer about school too, I get a sense that he feels that they’ve done their SATs so what else is there to learn? He definitely has his “moments” but is coping better with the school place appeal than anticipated.

6. I was called up for Jury service in July and thankfully they accepted my deferral request. It’s now later in the year and it will mean organising before and after school care but at least I have months to get that done and prepare D and T, not weeks.

7. This picture…

Itsey could not get any closer at the moment, funny little affectionate thing!

I’m linking this post in with R2BC hosted by Jo at Ojo’s world, can’t wait to meet her at the BiBs!

Good luck with the meeting and enjoy the BIBs…interested to read about the Jury duty – could you avoid it as a carer altogether if you wanted to?

Thank you, I’ve been looking into criteria for opting out, none mentions carers in fact it’s all a bit severe if you try too! Might ask CAB or something.
