Up In The Air – Thurs 20th March 2014

By | March 20, 2014

I’m having a bit of a multi-task because I’d only be duplicating this into three separate posts.

My Word For This Week is:

20140320-195648.jpg
(Or rather it’s a phrase)

Here’s why and I’ll try to include some Reasons To Be Cheerful too:

1. I’m feeling a bit down about the fact we have to appeal for a secondary school place for T; about the fact that I’ve asked for a letter for his primary school to support our appeal which hasn’t materialised and about the fact that we have to appeal directly to the secondary school on a very tight deadline. Until I have the school letter in my mitts, I can’t submit anything.

Taking a positive spin (R2BC): this is my chance to detail what T is capable of and what he (and his high functioning brain cells) could bring to their school.

2. A phone call from the hospital nurse about D’s next injection hasn’t happened when she said it would. I don’t know if I should therefore stick with the doctors appointment or trust that it will sort itself out. D’s injection can’t be more than one day late or there are yucky consequences.

Positive spin: ummm, I might need to think about this! I have a number for her but she’s extremely difficult to get hold of.

3. Hubbie’s car broke down today and can’t be looked at until at least Monday, we are a one-car family and he’s self-employed so it’s not brilliant timing.

Positive spin (R2BC): he can get the train to where he’s working tomorrow and can borrow his dad’s car for one day for all-important football on Saturday. After an initial stressed out time this morning, we had a coffee together before collecting the children and that was nice as we get very little “us” time.

4. I’ve had such an “up in the air” time that I’ve blipped on my diet plan and didn’t lose anything this week.

Positive spin: I didn’t gain and by knowing that, I felt a bit happier. The blip was hopefully a one-off but very dependant on númbers 1, 2 and 3!

5. I tend to withdraw into myself when I’m not feeling brilliant and just keep away from sharing anything.

Positive spin: hopefully blogging it out a bit has helped.

I’m linking this in with Word Of The Week, R2BC and PoCoLo. and hopefully next week’s word will be more upbeat and my R2BC will be cheerier!

I love that you have put the positives! Sometimes it’s so hard to see the positive in everything – at least it is for me!
I hope the school get that letter ready asap! x

We are just about to start the process of choosing Logans school place, its not something I am looking forward to as I need to make the right choice! If he doesnt get our choice I to will have to appeal or home school which I dont think will suit him. #Wotw

Same here, T needs the stimulus of school, I hope you get your chosen one. I discovered that medical/emotional/psychological factors aren’t taken into account during the initial process, which is a shame.

We too are awaiting to appeal but can’t because the old primary hasn’t forwarded on the details to the new one! Good luck with it all.

Ooh, those are some tricky obstacles and I love how you’re trying to turn them around as much as possible. I too tend to withdraw into myself when I’m bothering about things and blogging has been great for me to ‘let it out’ so I hope it’s helping you as well x

Keep the postiive side going, it will help you through whatever life throws at you. Things can really get you down sometimes, especially when it’s one problem after another, but you are right, sharing helps loads too. I hope it all works out, and soon. x

I think it’s brilliant that you’ve flipped all the negatives and tried to find positives. Good luck with the appeal, we had to do that and it’s so stressful xx
