Two Seconds – Sunday 23rd March 2014

By | March 23, 2014

After the hustle and bustle of yesterday, it was nice to have a more relaxed day.

A day when D could just be herself, she could smile, laugh, bounce and flap a bit without me gently sssh-ing her (which is what tends to happen when we’re out and about. T much prefers a home environment too, unless you give him the choice of a football pitch…

We had a little game this evening, a two second song intro game. I didn’t realise quite how many songs I had on my phone and most of them have very recognisable introductions.

From the (it sounds like) cats meows of one song to the boom-boom-boom of another, D loved it, especially when some of the ones I use as ringtones for people came on.

There was one particular song that really made her smile and want to listen more – and I’ll save that for a Music Monday tomorrow – and another which we sang along it and she signed a bit to it too (they do a lot of signing to songs at school).

It was Katy Perry’s Firework (click to view the video), a song with such lovely inclusion in the lyrics. It was also the song that D choose as her “end of school year” video which we were given in her last class. There were tears, it was just so appropriate.

Hopefully next week will bring progress in the issues that surfaced last week (it would be good to think so) but today has been a nice way to end one week/start up another.

I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
