Captain Pick – Weds 26th March 2014
By Jeannette | March 26, 2014
Poor T (aka Mr Pick), he was so looking forward to today.
He was playing in an inter-schools football tournament this afternoon, not only that, but he’d been chosen as Captain!
This meant a super-smiley T this morning, he positively bounced to school and had wanted to get there early to check that the team had all brought their permission slips back. He would also have the chance to choose positions of play and, as he takes his football extremely seriously and is a definite stat-man, he enjoyed this task.
Parents weren’t allowed to watch (boo!) so we could only wait until the end of the day to find out how the game (which was a semi-final) had gone.
Time ticked by and no T. No messages, no calls. Eventually a very green looking, tearful T appeared. He hadn’t had the best journey back and just needed to get home.
It took a few minutes before he mentioned the score, they’d won 4:1 and are through to the final! It just goes to show how dreadful he was feeling that he didn’t articulate that straight away.
He was a lot happier once home but it’s a shame that the win and his joy at captaincy was marred a bit. Still extremely proud of him, as ever.
D had a disturbed night last night, she was anxious about a child at school who’d been pestering her. As with other instances, D hasn’t got the confidence to tell anyone to “stop” and so it continues and then manifests itself at home.
A note in the home-school diary and hopefully it’s been addressed.
She’s had a good day apart from that.
I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed.
I’d love a vote in the Brilliance in Blogging awards please, clicking on the badge below will take you to the site. I think the Health category (which encompasses Mental Health) is the most appropriate but anywhere would be wonderful!
