Hump (or humph) day – Weds 5th Feb 2014

By | February 5, 2014

Wednesday today, a number of ways could describe it – wild, wet and windy. We’ve certainly had all that.

What I didn’t expect what something that happened this afternoon:

Hubbie had been “rained off” today so he was home, fortunately as our domino-effect fence (following the New Year winds) finally gave in and collapsed today. Our “man who does” is booked in, but not for a few weeks and he’s chock-a-block with similar jobs atm. So it was us two, in the (what felt like) gales, trying to secure the 12foot gap between us and our neighbours (who have the dog who sank his teeth into our previous cat. Note the word “previous”)

So, one bonus was that he was able to drive me to school to collect D and then we went off for T. We don’t normally put them together in the back because they seem unable to travel the smallest distance without squabbling and annoying each other, normally T is in the front and us girls are in the back.

But today, as they were literally going to be together for two minutes, I thought it would be okay. I was wrong. As soon as she saw T, D attempted to open the car door with a view to unbuckling and bolting. Her car door was adjacent to the road so it could have been very serious. So matter how much I feel she may be maturing or understanding situations, instances like this make me realise that she isn’t and she doesn’t.

Of course, she having had this explained to her and the potential consequences resulted in a stomping, shouting, wanting-to-self-harm D, whilst T was absolutely furious both with her and our silly fence.

It has felt like a matchstick situation ever since, ie. it may all accelerate, it may not.

I’m not sure what we can learn from today, apart from:

I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
