Fishy Friday – 28th Feb 2014
By Jeannette | February 28, 2014
D loves Fridays, LOVES them. Not because it’s the end of the week. Not because it then means she has a whole weekend with Bunny (although that is probably a big factor).
Nope, Friday means fish and chips, which D will squeak as soon as she’s awake and realises what day it is.
It’s also an opportunity for D and Hubbie to spend a bit of time together as she goes with him to collect them, they’ll play The Green Car Game on the way and they’ll head to the chippy, D holding onto Hubbie’s arm.
D normally gets quite antsy if I’m not around but because it’s a short known journey and she knows there are *squeals* fish and chips at the end of it (!), she very happily goes off.
She normally gets given a fortune cookie whilst the order is being prepared, usually it’s quite a profound saying but as long as it’s positive, she likes it. There was once a “beware of someone deceiving you” one the day before she was going to a party and it really put her off, she’s extremely literal.
I enjoy our Friday meal too because we always go around and say what our good and bad bits of the week are, invariably Hubbie’s and mine are similar and the weather always features! It’s nice though. D’s is usually a highlight of that day but it’s lovely that she’ll join in. Her level of comprehension has progressed so much in the last couple of years.
This evening followed a good end to the week for D, they’d attended an Easter fair today for Marie Curie cancer care at which all the classes had made gifts, cards and little bits to sell. D bought a little bracelet and an Easter card, which she wrote in school, ready to give out.
T has no football match again tomorrow, due to saturated pitches and car parks but hopefully he’ll be able to watch a men’s game. It will assist with some semblance of routine.
I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx

Thanks, it is a really good way to end the week and I love that they get a little bit of 1:1 time too. She always comes back holding tea very proudly 🙂
