Decorator and daughter – Weds 19th Feb 2014
By Jeannette | February 19, 2014
As parents/carers of those on the autistic spectrum will know, change has to be managed. Sometimes the change is effectively received, sometimes it’s not.
This is why, although I’m married to a self-employed painter/decorator, it (painting) doesn’t happen that often – that and the fact it’s a bit of a busman’s holiday for him.
Today was a day in which it WAS effectively received, by one of the children anyway. D was feeling a lot better (although still not 100%) and, to her delight, she was able to help a little bit with the painting.
She absolutely loves painting, drawing and crafting and was beaming away whilst she did a little bit of brush work. It was a chance for the two of them to share some smiles and cuddles too and give my arms a bit of a break, she is still happiest next to me.
T preferred to stay well out of the way of the painting, I think to him it just signifies messy paint and things moving around. He’s not keen on the latter aspect at all.
But, as DIY Dan would say…
“Job Done” (and very nice it looks too).
I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
