This week’s Reasons To Be Cheerful #R2BC

By | January 9, 2014

Another week nearly over, another chance to reflect on what’s been making me happy this week.

1. D is off school today after a very bad night, we dropped off T and then headed off for a buggy push around the lake near us. I got some great pictures for my Country Kids post for the weekend and a consistently honking swan made us both laugh!

2. My Wobbles Wednesday linky is back for the New Year, we have some new bloggers joining in which is great and everyone is so supportive of each other. Anyone is welcome to join in here.. I made my own badge too, a lot quicker than the previous attempt.

3. I found a tunic-style top in the sale in East to wear at my MIL’s funeral. I’m pleased because it’s something I’ll want to wear again and it covers up my tattoos on the inside of my wrists, which I’m very proud of, each one has a very personal meaning but I didn’t want them on show.

4. Talking of sales – and it’s not like I’m been buying loads (no chance) – I found some black glittery high-top trainers in Gap. Perfect for my glitter/sparkly loving D. They were either reduced from £34.95 or £24.95 (ambiguous labels) and will be great for her birthday.

5. I entered a photography competition last year and completely forgot I had. I didn’t win but received a £25 John Lewis voucher in the post yesterday, which was a lovely surprise. It’s been put towards funding an iMac, which has (guess what?) £25 towards it at the moment! I’m not going to think about how long it will take to save up for and just buy a few vouchers towards it when I can.

6. Hubbie is a bit brighter this week and back to work, January and February are always lean for him – he’s self-employed – but I’m glad he’s got some work before the weather gets better and the outside work filters through.

Linking this post up here with Becky, always lots of positivity in the #R2BC linky and well worth a read.

Well done on the bargains, I always miss the January sales because I can’t bare the thought of shopping anymore after spending all of December doing it!

Thanks and I know what you mean, I never go in at the start of the sales (urgh!), just far too much for T and D.

Love your sensitivity around the funeral and your obvious concern for your husband. Good to have the wake-up call about tough times for the self-employed. You are a fab woman – hope you feel that @kateonthinice
