My Word Of The Week #WOW
By Jeannette | January 11, 2014
I was a bit of a tired Scattered J last week, trying to gather my thoughts and put them into a format that made sense.
This week’s Word Of The Week and linking up with the Reading Residence is:
I’m back to thinking positively and looking forward to the year ahead, but what’s making me Grateful?
I wouldn’t have met my Hubbie if it weren’t for working at the next desk to someone who would become my sister-in-law. I mentioned to her that I had a bit of outside painting work needed doing to my house and what with my fear of heights, I couldn’t do it myself. She mentioned that her brother was a painter and she’d ask him to take a look and give me a quote. He apparently umm-ed and aah-ed because it was a titchy job but his mum persuaded him to as I’d been a good friend to my workmate. The rest is history….We attended his mum’s funeral yesterday and, but for her intervention and a quirk of fate, we wouldn’t have met. Fate is strange and wonderful sometimes. The service was lovely and there were some moments at the wake where she would have laughed away.
January and February are always lean months for Hubbie, but he has work booked in and that will keep us ticking over until the better weather.
D and T have both settled back into the routine of the school day and that’s made me grateful too. They are both in the right settings for them. We will know about T’s secondary school in March, the time will fly by between now and then.
After an initial very dodgy start with D’s daily yucky tablets, we’ve found a way to get them down here, it involves a bit of bribery but it’s a lot easier than it was (I’d be getting hit and the tablet would be spat out in disgust). We only have 20 more days to go and yes, I am grateful for that!!
After the understandable emotions of the last few weeks, we are all talking, cuddling, grateful to all be together and looking forward.
I’m looking forward to having a read of the other posts linked up Jx

Grateful is a lovely #WotW choice. So much to be grateful for, too, and I think a bereavement can make us stop and think about this. Lovely that it’s got you all talking and cuddling, too. How amazing that your mother-in-law intervened and ensure you two actually met, too! Thanks for linking up with #WotW x
