Little steps – #WobblesWednesday
By Jeannette | January 8, 2014
Welcome to Wobbles Wednesday, a weekly linky which is hopefully leading those who join in to a healthier lifestyle.
Thank you to everyone who linked up last week, we have our first regular male blogger – Graham – who has a very useful website. Everyone is welcome to join in with posts, comments and tips.
I’m still keeping away from my unreliable scales for the time being, I’d rather go by how I’m feeling – and at the moment that is quite positive still.
Hubbie hadn’t realised I’d given up the chocolate for the foreseeable (he has a lot on his mind at the moment) and when he did, wondered if it was a wise thing to do. It is, for me, I can be very emotional and reach for something comforting, I’ve resolved to try and make that a satsuma or a hard boiled egg rather than sweet stuff (admittedly not practical if I’m out and about!).
He was happily chomping away on a creme egg (yes, they’re already in the shops) the other night and a few sniffs of the chocolate was enough for me.
We’re also eating more seeded brown bread at home as opposed to white and it is just so tasty! A slice of that with some peanut butter (no additional butter/margarine) is just yummy as a quick lunch (and having had T and D at home it needs to be quick).
So, my goals for the next week are:
Continuing to stick to the healthier options, this should be easier now that the children are back at school.
Recognise that this will take a while. I went into all sorts of panics about what to wear for my MIL’s funeral on Friday, I’d decluttered previously and charity-shopped any office-type wear. In the end I’ve gone for something I’m comfortable in (a tunic in the sale from East) and can wear again without feeling too sad.
Have the occasional treat without beating myself up. D went back to school a day before T so T and I had cake in Costa. It was extremely sweet and nice to recognise it as a rare treat.
If we have to have goodies in the house, it’s things that I don’t like and am not tempted by (afore-mentioned creme eggs), that makes it much easier to resist.
So, that’s my week, how is everyone else doing?
I have a little badge now, please feel free to grab it and there’s also a link below for posts. I will share posts linked up and enjoy reading them Jx

Thanks Graham, hope you resisted the funny little choc treats!

Good luck Jeanette! Will be happy (or not, but that’s the less chocolate’s fault not your link) to join your linky, as I find myself in need of some chocolate-forsaking salad-embracing this January (and February. And March…) 🙂

I’m out of synch with you because I’m weighing in on a Sunday so I’ve linked up with that post. Staying positive and allowing yourslef the odd treat is definitely good. You can’t totally give up foods you love or you’ll just crave them more and end up pigging out ! xxx

So true, look forward to reading your next post x

I think staying off the scales is a big one. I completed the 21 day slimpod and didn’t weigh myself at all! At the end as required I did and had lost 7lb. I’m now not weigh myself again and focusing on being healthy and active

You had such great results with SlimPod, I must be started with mine 🙂

Well done on keeping off the Chocolate! Literally as I was typing mine, my mum turned up with cupcakes for us all!!
But, like you, I recognise that a rare treat is ok x

Oh yummy but yes, rare treat is good. Hope they were yummy! X

I love seeded brown bread! It’s so tasty and makes a lovely treat in our house. Good luck x

We’ve converted 3/4 of house to seeded now, D will always be a white bread girl I think. Hope your week goes well x

I know that if I stop eating choc for a while I’m not bothered by it, but I emotionally eat and it’s the first thing I go for x
Jeannette on 11th January 2014 at 12:42 pm.
Me too, darn sweet chocolate. I’ve got 11 days so far and am not really missing it – apart from, like you, those emotional moments. Keep resisting! X

Ohh cream eggs are so tempting!! I’ve eaten about 5 in the last week! Oops! lol x
