Hump Day – Weds 8th Jan 2014

Apparently Wednesday is known as “Hump Day” because we’re all getting over the proverbial hill of the working week and heading towards the weekend. I thought it meant something else when I first started seeing the phrase on twitter, but anyway…
Today has been not only a Hump day but also a Huurrrmph day, at least where D is concerned.
We had to also walk a friend of T’s to school today, which firstly caused T some anxious moments when his friend arrived 25 minutes late (T does like to be punctual) and then D. She did not want a “stranger” in the house, even though she’d been gently prepared numerous times for this one-off event and made sure she voiced her displeasure. It was a relief when we’d dropped them off and could be on route to D’s school.
She went off to her class very well and greeted me this afternoon with a “Mumma”, a run-up and a I’m-going-to-bowl-you-over hug. Typically for D, she doesn’t like to use the toilets at school and was desperate virtually as soon as we got out of the gates, but would not go back into school..routine…a brisk walk to meet T therefore!
He’d had a good day, I think both T and D are glad to be back at school and the autism-friendly routines.
And that’s replicated over into the afternoon and evening, D happily bouncing around and rushing over for frequent tight-tight cuddles and T being the stat-man that he is.
We’re definitely over the Hump and hopefully D is over the Huurrrmphs!
