Found A Penny – Mon 27th Jan 2014
By Jeannette | January 27, 2014
That’s the saying I said to D on the way home tonight – “find a penny, pick it up and all that day you’ll have good luck”.
She certainly seems to have. A change from earlier with a rather despondent Monday morning vibe coming over both T and D and it was a downcast school run, followed by an extremely cuddly D when I dropped her off.
I was met with a squealed “Mumma” and a run-up, she could not wait to show me her penny which it sounded like she’d held in her hand for most of the day.
And the luck? Well, she’s come home with TWO birthday party invitations, thankfully not on the same day but she’s extremely pleased about them.
Here are her favourite things today, penny relinquished briefly so Bunny can “hold” it:
It’s been a welcome relief from the forthcoming injection and the anxieties which manifest within D every time she thinks about it. Her teacher has offered to help but I can’t see honestly how they can. D knows it is going to hurt and I can’t tell her any different. All I can suggest (and I do) is that if she co-operated, it will be less stressful for her and over quicker. Which I can suggest and she’ll agree with, but on the morning it will be different matter. Extreme anxiety will overtake any reasoning.
But, taking a positive spin, D has been happy today. She has her penny, rather a warm penny after being grasped for so long, but it’s make her smile and that’s good in my book.
I hope everyone’s Monday has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
