A Stick-y Cuddle!
By Jeannette | January 13, 2014
I published a post a while ago about The Tale Of Two Kitties, our cat sisters who are firmly ensconced in our family.
They are both individual personalities:
Bitsey, the larger cat has aspirations to be a guard dog and will protect her territory whilst I’m out on a school run. Her fur will rise up, her tail will resemble that of a fox and *hissssss* at any passing dog being walked. Her ear has suffered a bit over the years from territorial scraps she’s got into but, grumpiness aside, she’s a loveable purr bag.
Itsey, on the other hand, is much lazier, as long as she has a smooth surface to curl up in, that’s how she’ll spend her day. She’s also incredibly nervy – she came to us a frightened, skittish little thing – and if a leaf brushes past her, it makes her jump. She’s also a lot smaller than her sister and her tail resembles a little twig, so she’s become known as Sticky.
Itsey aka Sticky doesn’t like cuddles as much as her sister, any attempts to pick her up are met with claws out like little spears and she’ll want to get down immediately, at the expense of any skin or clothes that might be in her way.
Sometimes, though if she’s just woken up, she’s respective and the picture below shows Sticky aka Itsey having a cuddle with Hubbie – a rare occurrence, both from the claws aspect and the fact that she prefers me (but that doesn’t stop her clawing).
They both look very happy, doesn’t they?
It would be nice to think Sticky’s cuddles have now improved, but they’re very dependent on how awake she is and her mood, she can be cuddly (on her terms) at night though:
I’m linking this up with Magic Moments and What’s The Story as it was a pretty unexpected but lovely moment.

We have 3 cats and there all so very different, Maisy is the cuddly cat and loves strokes etc. Daisy is our hunter who brings home ‘gifts’ and then we have Bonnie who is our moody teenager!

Aww what lovely photos – Sticky is looking so content in that first one. A great perspective on the second! Very pretty cat. Thank you so much for sharing with #whatsthestory

Thanks Charly, that second picture is one of my favourites, she’s a regular claws-out stretcher :6

Cats are fickle animals, I do adore them but their love is on their terms.

That is so true, Fiona. I think itsey just sees me as a warm cushion at times :-/

We used to have a cat so I know how strong-minded they can be! Yours looks happy to belong in your family, our tom cat was pure torture, scratching and biting when the mood came upon him 🙂 #whatsthestory
