Yay for a good day! Mon 2nd Dec 2013

By | December 2, 2013

D has been a happy girl today, despite T still being off school (which had sent her into a rage on Friday).

She declared as she came up to me after school with a grin “I’ve had the best day”.

She’d had science – which she always really enjoys – and they’d made “snowflakes” today, D was allowed to colour hers pink. The snowflakes are going in special storage overnight and, much to D’s excitement, tomorrow they will be crystals! They will then apparently be allowed to bring them home. To a girl who covets and carries around a bag full of “small things” and is a bit of a magpie when it comes to shiny, glittery items, this is good news!

There’s also been lots of singing practice for the Christmas production and – proud Mumma moment – she’s been chosen to sing in the school choir at the school’s carol concert, which is always great fun. In mainstream, D could never participate in any assemblies or Christmas plays, she’d be totally overcome with anxieties, so to go from that very frightened little child to one who will sing in a group in front of a packed hall is a massive achievement.

She’s also extremely excited about an end of term outing for the class, which they got told about today.

It sounds like the last two weeks of term are going to be busy and full of activities, I’m so pleased that she’s looking forward to it all, I just hope she doesn’t “peak” too soon and get overwhelmed.

T’s had a snuffly, cuddly day, the cuddly aspect is quite unusual for him and a sure sign that he’s not feeling 100%.

This hasn’t stopped me being bombarded with football facts and learning all about FIFA 14 today though.

So, snuffly T aside, it’s been a jolly goof start to the week

I’m back on WordPress. Much happier after my little vacation to another blogging platform. It’s all looking a bit bare and basic, but “bear with” (as Miranda’s pal would say) it will have the usual badges and boxes soon.

I hope everyone’s had a good day, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
