Sensory-seeking Saturday! 14th Dec 2013
By Jeannette | December 14, 2013
If I could sum up D in four words today, they would be:
Squeaky
Squealing
and
Sensory-seeking.
I guess it’s been her reaction to a busy week at school (another busy one coming up next week), her excitement over Christmas and her overjoyed emotions at Bunny’s return.
One minute she will be bouncing and flapping, the next she’s landed on me with a huge thud and a request for “tight, tight, tight” cuddles.
Definitely preferable though to this time last week when we were in the throws of first day of tablet-taking (which is still awful btw with 72 days to go – counting much?) and obviously D was Bunny-less and quite distressed.
Glitter, our Elf On The Shelf, had found a new home overnight and it took D a while to spot her:
D has been convinced she has moved further during the day but I’m sure it’s that she’s seen Glitter from different angles and therefore her perception will change.
T’s had an up and down day, the team he plays in lost this morning but the men’s team won this afternoon so a mixed bag of emotions for him.
Tomorrow – if D gets her wish – will see a trip into town. Not my ideal choice with ten days before Christmas but as long as we avoid the busiest places (when we tend to anyway), it should be manageable (ish). Her buggy (which is her sanctuary in times of stress) will be a must.
I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
