Lovely Inside and Out Sat 28th Dec 2013

By | December 28, 2013

One of the advantages of being married to a painter is that we always have painting materials to hand.

This always means that D has a choice of some quite random colours if she fancies a wall colour change in her room, it also means that we have plenty of lining paper to hand for drawing/painting/poster making.

One of our favourite crafts in the past was drawing around someone lying down on some lining paper, blu-tacking it to a wall and it could then be made into how that child wanted to dress – for T, it was a sports kit, for D, very princess-y. It’s also a good visual way to see exactly how tall someone is.

D wanted to do one of those drawings today, but with a difference. They’ve touched briefly on the human organs and their functions at school and she wanted to draw her insides.

So, with much giggling and wriggling and an image from Google, she did it. The heart is more heart-shaped than an actual shape but she preferred it that way.

She really engaged with this and it was a good opportunity to give her a little more understanding as to the various functions.

Hubbie and T found a (very) local football match to watch this afternoon, which always relaxes them and gives them some 1:1 time too. They always return reinvigorated.

It’s been a as-close-to-normal-day as we’ve had for a while, it did everyone good.

I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx
