A good end.. Fri 13th Dec 2013

I am so glad it’s Friday and that we have the weekend, even though I am unprepared beyond belief for Christmas. I will aim to catch up before term ends next Friday though.
The return of Bunny has made all the difference to D though and she is so much calmer and more settled, phew!
D proudly went into school today wearing a sequin-embellished top, which was the best I could muster for festive jumper day, I didn’t want to go OTT in case the other children got excited and pulled things off, which would have greatly upset her. She was delighted to rush at me at the end of the day with a huuuuge bear-hug and show off her stickers for participating, Bunny got to wear one too. And D was “star of the day” in class so she was a very happy girl!!
Next week will bring a busy end of term; a bowling trip, a carol concert (which she’s singing in) at school, a visit from Father Christmas and (unfortunately) another injection, but hopefully Bunny’s calming presence will make it slightly easier than the last one.
D simply could not wait to find out where Glitter – our Elf On The Shelf – was this morning:
Glitter also seems to have acquired a skirt overnight (clackety-clack) after D complained that as she’s a girl, she should have a skirt.
T’s had a good end to an at times fraught week. He’s really looking forward to football tomorrow. His last week of term will bring a daytime and evening performance with his class and a Christmas party.
They have both coped well with change and disappointments this week, outwardly anyway, it’s only when we’re at home that their barriers drop and emotions (positive or negative) can be unleashed.
Ending on a good note though…even if there are only 12 days to go!!
I hope everyone’s day has gone well, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx

Thanks, I’ll try! D’s Bunny disappearing for 8 days really threw us all and there was a lot of emotion to deal with. I should have been writing cards today, we’ve relaxed instead, which was definitely needed. Hope your weekend going well 🙂
