It’s spreading… Sun 27th Oct 2013

By | October 27, 2013

It was inevitable, wasn’t it? After nearly two weeks of me having this cold/flu/mutant thing, D is showing signs of her going down with it. The early signs are there, a very tickly cough and a temperature.

So, we’ve played the calpol game today, always tricky because D doesn’t like the taste, in fact she hates it. I spent ages previously trying to find a tasteless calpol-type medicine for children, with absolutely no luck.

The first dose administered was a nightmare, a wrestling match but she did see how she felt better (eventually) after having a dose and that reasoning made the second dose easier to administer. Poor D. I’d hoped the bug wouldn’t spread, but it wasn’t to be.

She’s spent much of the day as yesterday, cuddled up as close as possible to me, wrapped up tightly and requesting those big squeezes that make her feel better.

T is a happier boy today, he’s still concerned about the impending storm but we’ve been looking on the Met Office website, which goes into more detail by area and by timing. For a child who relies on a) timescales and b) visuals, this has greatly helped him in working it all out in his head.

The Met Office link is here, if anyone wanted to check their area:

Extremely relieved it’s half term this week, both from the "bug" and a zero school runs viewpoint.

I hope everyone’s had a good day, comments/RTs/shares as ever welcomed, thanks for reading Jx 😘
