Fade To Grey #kickcancer #MusicMonday

Today’s Music Monday was always going to be this song, there are two versions of it here, the original and a live version which I much prefer.

Why have I chosen this song today? It’s my ringtone for Hubbie (the original) and when D hears it, she’ll say "that’s Daddy’s phone song". My choice of it as a ringtone is a bit tongue-in-cheek but that kind of sums is up, getting older but still having a laugh, despite all the challenges.

I was feeling a bit sorry for myself this morning, my website changed its domain late last week and I think that’s affected my scoring on a blogging site, it’s gone waaaay down, or maybe it’s because I’m rubbish, anyway…

I saw one of my neighbours at the shops earlier, his wife has just lost a fast, blooming vicious battle against cancer, when I say fast, it was a matter of a few short months and vicious because she suffered, and because of where it was and how fast it spread, she couldn’t bear anyone to touch her. No one.

It made me realise that a number on a website is nothing compared to our day-to-day existence.

When all is said and done, I’d much prefer to be rembered as someone who tried to do the best for her children, her husband and tried to help others in a similar situation.

Oh, and who blogged a bit too.

The second version of the song is below, maybe it reflects me too. How I grew up, wanting to conform, wanting to follow whatever what fashionable but now, I’m me, with my faults and flaws. And liking a bit of a rockier version of songs. And wanting to kick cancer up its butt for the non-discriminatory, vicious disease that it is.

Thanks for reading Jx
