Music Monday “Life’s what you make it” by Talk Talk

By | January 28, 2013

Today’s “Music Monday” is by Talk Talk. I watched this video with D over the weekend and she loved all the insects and animals in it, make sure you watch right to the end, after the music has stopped, lovely wildlife shots.

Lyrics first:
“Baby
Life’s what you make it – can’t escape it.
Baby
Yesterday’s favourite – don’t you hate it?
Ev’rything’s alright – live’s what you make it –
Ev’rything’s alright.

Baby
Life’s what you make it – don’t backdate it.
Baby
Don’t try to shake it – beauty is naked.
Ev’rything’s alright – live’s what you make it –
Ev’rything’s alright – what you make it.

Baby
Life’s what you make it – celebrate it

Anticipate it – yesterday’s faded.
Nothing can change it – life’s what you make it.
Ev’rything’s alright – life’s what you make it.
Ev’rything’s alright – life’s what you make it.
Ev’rything’s alright – ev’rything’s alright.”

I didn’t realise, until I searched for the lyrics that the song was written by David Sylvian (of Japan-fame, I remember a friend of mine shaved her eyebrows off because one or more of the group had done that, those were the days..)

And they’re right “Life IS what you make it”. We only got one shot at it so…make it most of it. I sometimes think I’m getting a little message, I can be walking along, full of thoughts and suddenly a white feather will float down – no wind, no birds. And it does the trick, I instantly think of an amazing lady, no longer on this earth and I’m grateful that I’m around.

So, here’s the video link, enjoy the song and the insects!!

Thanks for reading Jx 😘

This was song of the day some weeks ago and like D I also love the video. This song always puts me in mind of my poems “Time for Tea” and “Yesterdays Past” and agree – life is indeed what we make it!:)
