Sunday 10th June

Quick ear moan – it’s still aching and it feels like there’s a fly in there (!) but routine etc goes on..
Butterfly watch – day 10: ðŸ›ðŸŒ¸ðŸ›
They’re all still chomping away, getting bigger and there’s more movement towards the lid where they start the crystallisation process:
On with our day, D has been very sensitive today, very prone to outbursts and running off at (what would normally be very) minor things. I could sense that we were building up to a meltdown and sure enough, one arrived this afternoon. It was prompted by anxieties over going back to school tomorrow, she told me afterwards. She mentioned as well a couple of things which I will take up with her TA tomorrow and once she was calm and she’d told me what was bothering her, and I’d said I’d speak to her TA, she was a lot happier. I wish she was able to discuss something in advance of meltdown but I’m so grateful that she can tell me afterwards, so much admiration and respect for those parents with non-verbal children, it must be a constant guessing game.
She was relaxed enough after her meltdown to do some drawing and crafts:
The first picture is of D as a ballerina, the second swans & ducks.
I don’t anticipate her going into the classroom well tomorrow but at least I know why – preparation etc.
I realised today that we have at the moment, 3 medical appointments for D for various issues during the summer holidays – 3 with 6 weeks to go. I’m aiming to spread them out as much as I can to prepare her for each individual one as much as possible. Two of them will be in completely new places to her and will involve public transport.
I hope everyone’s had a good day and tomorrow morning goes well for those going back after half term. Thanks for reading, comments/RTs as ever welcomed Jx 😘
