30 Day Music Challenge – Day 14
By Jeannette | July 15, 2017
Today’s prompt is:
“A Song You Would Love Played At Your Wedding”
As we’re married, I’ve chosen a song we actually had played at our wedding – Midge Ure’s (You) Move Me.
The version you’ll find if you click here is the single version, not the one we got married to. I can’t find that one online, we married to an acoustic version, with just a guitar and singing and it was wonderful.
It was also a little bit funny as we got married in Jersey and I’d brought along a tape of songs (well, it was 2002), the registrar put the tape in and then said (in a very pronounced French accent) “Jeannette, it’s not working!” which made us giggle a bit.
Second time around it did work but we still use that phrase (with an accent) if something goes wrong at home, lol!
I’m not sure where the acoustic version would be, apart from on the cd, even itunes’ version of the album don’t have it, it is lovely 😍
“Rolling around my head
Shaking me blindly
Killing me kindly
Running around my heart
Beating me softly
Beating me every way
And I have never felt this emotion before
Ooh, I if I could stand up straight I´d take control
You move me
(in a wild and wicked way)
You move me
(like the tide on a blue, blue day)
Oh I don´t know how to make myself understand
That life goes on when the rush is gone
If only I could make believe I´d let it be…
You move me
(in a wild and wicked way)
You move me
(like a tide on a blue, blue day)
Oh, I don´t know how to make myself understand
That life goes on when the rush is gone
If only I could make believe I´d let it be…
Live a lie and let Love die and set it free
You move me
(in a wild and wicked way)
You move me
(like a tide on a blue, blue day)
You move me
(like a dream in the afterglow)
You move me
(like a song on the radio)
You move me
(like an engine on gasoline)
You move me
(like a diamond on Vaseline)”

30 day music challenge sounds fun! A song that was played at your wedding. Well we had a very low key wedding ( registery office ) and then a couple of months later had our reception ( it was combined with the boys christening celebrations ) which was held at an Indian restaurant. So there wasn’t really much space to dance. But we always said that “our song was ‘chasing cars’ by snow patrol.
