A Medal! Weds 5th May 2016

By | May 4, 2016

Wow, we have been through the emotional wringer today!

We went from D’s extreme anxiety yesterday, which carried on from the moment she woke up this morning to this…

A good medal in the Panathlon Challenge at Stoke Mandeville.

How fantastic is that? She absolutely rushed back into school at the end of the day – as their bus had been delayed – squeaking “I got a medal!” and yes, she does love her medals.

Such was her enjoyment of the event, she even said to me on the way home “I’d like to do that again”.   Now, I know the big wonderful shiny medal around her neck contributed to that, but isn’t that amazing?

I’m so, so pleased.  I have to admit that her anxieties this morning were so intense that I kept it together until I got through the front door and then had a little cry.  Seeing her joyful face and hearing her account of her day made me want to shed a few more tears, of joy this time.  I didn’t though, I hugged our very brave girl instead, she amazes me sometimes.

Life is definitely a rollercoaster isn’t it?

What a fantastic achievement for D, I find with mine at the moment their anxiety is to much for them to be able to compete, well done D
