Crusty – Weds 17th Feb 2016

We have it in stereo now, those crrrrrrusty coughs.  D hacking away upstairs as she makes pictures with her pocket money coins on the laminate floor (almost as noisily as she coughs) whilst T splutters away downstairs, he’s slowly getting better.

I knew it would spread between the two of them, these germs, just knew it.  Inevitable, because even though they don’t necessarily sit next to each other or play alongside, it was bound to happen.  Reminders (and reminders) to cover that cough don’t always get through.

Fortunately D is very governed by her tummy and her appetite has not diminished, she needs routine more though when not feeling 100%, I guess it’s something she can control, in between coughs.

In a way, I’m relieved she’s ill.  Not in a spiteful way but because it means she’s definitely free of febrile convulsions (where her body was unable to cope with a hike in temperature caused by an illness/sweat and she’d pass out, sometimes for a few minutes).  The doctors were right when they said she’d grow out of them, even though it felt never-ending with a convulsion every two weeks or more frequently at the time.

I’m also glad it’s half term with no constraints on us having to be somewhere at a certain time, not that either of them would have been today.

So, we’ll see what tomorrow brings.  It would bring smiles on both their faces if it snowed, there might be a teeny bit, we’ll see.
