Wellbeing Wednesday #WellbeingWednesday

By | August 6, 2014

Regular readers of my blogs will remember that I was hosting Wobbles Wednesday and that I haven’t been for a while.

Why? I got disillusioned with the idea of focusing just on weight loss, I would feel extremely angry with myself if the scales didn’t show the figures I was expecting. I decided to focus more on have a healthy mind and hoping a healthy (or healthier body) would then follow.

It felt better for me. This year has been extremely stressful and followed an equally stressful one last year. Family bereavement, an 8-month school place appeal and just day-to-day with my two lovely autistic children have all taken their toll and I began to feel just totally washed out.

For example, I managed to severely damage my fingernails on my right hand putting up a trampoline in January (yes, January). They still aren’t growing back and that is partly (I believe) down to all the stress.

So, it’s time to focus on feeling better from the inside out and that is the focus of this new, fortnightly linky.

It’s a chance for us as parents/carers/individuals to share posts on things that make us feel happy.

It could be:
*A new haircut (something that was well overdue for me but I love it)
*A new diet (yes, the Wobbles aspect)
*Which leads on to weight loss
*A healthy recipe or a totally un healthy but delicious one
*Or a new pampering experience/shopping find
*Or maybe just a quiet coffee with a magazine (something I really miss in the school holidays)
*Perhaps a book that you’ve enjoyed reading or some music
*Appropriate reviews too

Hopefully you get the giste, it’s a linky that’s not children-focused, it’s for us! Although if you’ve had a fantastic family-focused experience and wanted to include that too, that’s fine, as long as it made you feel better!

Here’s a badge:

And here’s the linky code, posts can be old or new and the linky is open for 12 days. I will read, comment on and share posts using the #WellbeingWednesday hashtag.

I know what you mean, it’s very difficult to find any time during the holidays. I love being with them but I am looking forward to a quiet coffee in September. X

such a good idea for making it more wellbeing focussed than just weight loss. Sometimes a bit of me time or just doing stuff we enjoy can help us feel a whole lot better. #pocolo
