My favourite black and white photograph

By | July 13, 2014

There is a new linky running with Charly at podcastdove.com, all about black and white photography.

I’ve always preferred pictures taken in this way, although it might seem a bit boring at first, the different shades of black, white and grey seem to, to me, make things look to have more depth, to seem a bit more sophisticated.

Below is my favourite black and white photograph, a smiling 4-month old T. The photograph really picks out his whisps of baby hair and those two little teeth just starting to peek though at the bottom of his gums.

He was laughing away in this picture too, a lovely baby laugh. His little all-in-one was a cornflower blue with a paler blue star on, our “little star”.

He (hopefully) won’t mind me saying this, but he was a “happy accident”, a previous PCOS diagnosis meant that we figured “if it happened, fantastic, if it doesn’t, we’ll be okay as we are” but we were extremely lucky, not once but twice.

I can’t quite believe that the “little star” in this picture is off to secondary school in September, he’s continuing to make us very proud.

How beautiful and I agree-there’s really something quite elegant and timeless about black and white photography 🙂
