Word Of The Week and #R2BC

By | April 11, 2014

The start of April was always a cheery one for the Bluecrisps family. There were 3 birthdays within 10 days; my father-in-law, mine 3 days after and my mother-in-law’s a week after that. A scrumptious 10 days filled with cards, candles and chocolate cake.

It’s been a sadder start to April this year since Hubbie’s mum’s sudden death 4 days before Christmas.

My word for this week is therefore:

We are “coping”, as is my father-in-law. He’s aged immensely these last four months, it’s understandable but he’s still around, hugging, smiling, talking, living.

My first Reason To Be Cheerful then, above.

Lets find some more:

2. We had a cinema trip this week, to see Rio 2 in 3d. It was very visual and contained lots of songs for D to enjoy, she much prefers songs to dialogue. There were a few “I want to leave” from her but we managed to stay to the end.

3. The weather has been lovely. The children have been pestering me to get the pool filled but I don’t think it’s quite warm enough…yet.

4. D had an eye test last weekend, we go to a wonderful SN-friendly optician and, because she’s relaxed and familiar with the setting, it makes for a more accurate test. We’re picking up her new glasses tomorrow.

5. T and D and their routines: their need for routine and normality is keeping Hubbie going. That and lots of cuddles. I’m glad I’m around for him too.

Hopefully next week’s word will be a cheerier one, linking up with @TheReadingRes and @OjosWorld.

I think ‘coping’ it still positive. Sometimes that’s simply the best that you can do, and if that’s how you get through, then so be it. Nice to see you’re still finding reasons to be cheerful, too, and they are lovely. Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

I think Coping is an excellent word. I am so glad you have found reasons to be cheerful at an, understandably, tough time.
Yay for cinema and relaxed eye tests though!! Xx
