A positive end to the week and other #R2BC

By | January 31, 2014

I’m having a bit of a multi-task and combining my diary post with this week’s Reasons To Be Cheerful as the majority of them came today.

Here they are:

1. Today D finished her 60-day tablet prescription. When we were advised in early December to start these tablets, I knew they wouldn’t go down well (literally) with D and at first, it was a major, major battle. She would spit them out and lash out. At times it was tempting to stop them as they were causing so much distress but we stuck with it and it was the last one today. Yay!! I’m hoping the doctor doesn’t prescribe some more at her next hospital visit but, if he does, we’ll deal with it.

2. Friday for us means Fish and Chip shop tea. Something that we all look forward for various reasons; D as she can go with Hubbie and pick them up and receive a fortune cookie, T as it is practically the only hot meal he will eat and Hubbie and I as it’s a relaxed end to the week and we’re all eating the same.

3. I was talking to a lady I see walking and training disability dogs today. Her first words to me were “you look great, have you lost weight?” which, for someone a little bit insecure (and hosting Wobbles Wednesday) was lovely. When I was telling Hubbie about it, he was a tad flippant but I know he loves me really (men!). And I was wearing my fab pink coat which makes me feel good but sometimes like a liquorice allsort (with black trousers and boots) and it means T can very easily spot me after school, which is a bonus.

4. So glad it’s Friday, regular diary post readers will be aware that D has had a very mixed week this week. In addition, my ears have felt very muggy this week and, if need be, I can have a snuggly onesie sofa day tomorrow (D permitting) knowing that there are no school runs.

I’m linking this post up with Becky for R2BC, thanks for reading Jx

How lovely to receive a compliment out of the blue like that 🙂 Well done for persisting 60 days with those tablets, that a long time to cope with so much distress, poor thing. I hope you enjoyed your fish and chip dinner, that is the meal we all miss the most since our move to Canada, proper fish and chips, sigh!

Thanks, me too. But if there’s more yucky tablets, we’ll deal with them (I guess). Is there a fish & chips equivalent? X

I am now stuck with the ‘liquorice allsort’ image! lol
Chips are the only hot thing that little A will eat too, so I can sympathise with that one, big time xxx

Lol, I sometimes wear a black hat too so very Bertie Bassett 😉 T’s food restrictions can be challenging but at least we’ve found something we can all (albeit he’ll only eat the batter) enjoy together. Hope your weekend is going well 😉 x
